Our Culinary at the Depot students went on the road last week and prepared a 3-course meal for folks the Heart of the Mitten Association at Coleman Chapter OES. The group also awarded Jacob Butters, Junior, with a scholarship to go to Culinary School. They will hold the scholarship in an account to earn interest until he graduates.

Thanks so much to everyone who has donated so far! If you did, share in the comments below why you felt it was important! If you’re still on the fence, at the very least it is super easy to SHARE this post and help us spread the word. We appreciate all the help we can get! https://www.givelocalmidland.org/organizations/coleman-community-schools Mr. B keeps our band class cultivating connections all the time! Between concerts, competitions, marching band, and group trips, band students get to experience several different areas that keep them learning and engaged. This picture is from the end of last year's amazing spring band concert.

Don't miss your chance to donate if you can, or SHARE to help get the word out! https://www.givelocalmidland.org/organizations/coleman-community-schools These kindergarteners spent a day last fall cultivating connections to the agriscience program and all of the fun that goes along with it! Our high school ag students helped plan a "fall fun" day for the elementary school students featuring hayrides, crafts, and pumpkins. In this picture, the students are enjoying the school forest property, We love opportunities for our students to come together and be leaders!

Can’t donate today? Helping us SHARE our posts today is almost as important! Spreading the word helps us reach those who don’t have us added on social media . . . who might be able to help us win this next prize! If we are able to get more unique donors between 6:00 pm (now!) and 7:00 pm than any other participating organization today, we'll win the "Happy Hour" award and an additional $300 for our endowment fund! Let's go for it! https://www.givelocalmidland.org/organizations/coleman-community-schools This student is making connections between the microscopic world and ours by viewing cells under a microscope! She's either looking at pond water samples or at a swab of her own cells, both of which can be very interesting research!

Our district is committed to helping our students "grow for the future," and you can help them, too! #GiveLocalMidland is live until 11:59 pm tonight -- you can donate to our endowment fund during today's special event to help us earn additional matching funds and prizes with every donation. This only happens once a year, so please consider making a donation today if you can! Check out our fundraising page here (and don’t forget to SHARE!): https://www.givelocalmidland.org/organizations/coleman-community-schools Here at Coleman, we even have alumni that continue to cultivate connections within and outside of our district! Comet alum Shane Gross, along with his teammates at SVSU, engineered an operational automatic smart aquaponics system that they then donated to our Agriscience program! The SVSU team gave an educational presentation about the system to the students; who will reap the benefits from the high-tech system. How cool!

Everybody - set your alarms for 3:00! If we are able to earn the FIRST donation after 3:00 pm today, before any other participating organization, we'll win the "$300 after 3" award and an additional $300 for our endowment fund! Let's go for it! Check out our Give Local page here to read our story, learn more about the endowment fund, and DONATE to help us grow! (Don’t forget to SHARE, too!) https://www.givelocalmidland.org/organizations/coleman-community-schools Thanks to the support of our Board of Education, we were able to fund the purchase of enough solar eclipse glasses so that ALL of our K-12 students could safely view the eclipse! This rare opportunity cultivated connections by creating a cool memory that these students will remember forever . . . and that may also spark interest in the field of astronomy!
